Hi! I am Fu-Lai, a theoretical physicist but fascinated by self-organized phenomena found in living biological systems. In particular, I'm deeply interested in how large-scale collective patterns could emerge from small-scale interactions between individuals in the systems. Many examples, such as collective migration of cell groups and tissue shape development, vividly manifest such beautiful biological patterns. During my research career, I have been adopted versatile methods, including mathematical modeling, computer simulations and quantitative analysis of experimental data, to investigate the formation mechanisms of bio-patterns at multiple spatial and temporal scales.
